Carbone Vini is a family-run Italian winery based in Melfi, in the volcanic Vulture area of Basilicata, where siblings Luca and Sara Carbone revived their family’s winemaking tradition in 2005, continuing a legacy begun by their father and uncle in the 1970s. The estate cultivates about 8 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, focusing on indigenous grapes such as Aglianico, Fiano, and Moscato, and produces wines that reflect the unique volcanic terroir, including notable Aglianico labels like Stupor Mundi and 400 Some. Their cellar and an atmospheric underground aging bottaia carved into volcanic tuff offer a distinctive backdrop for crafting and tasting wines deeply rooted in local history and landscape.
