Seifried Estate Winery is a long‑established family‑owned winery in Nelson, New Zealand, founded in 1973 by Austrian‑born Hermann Seifried and his wife Agnes, making it the South Island’s oldest commercial vineyard and a cornerstone of the region’s wine history. Today the second generation—with their children Heidi, Chris and Anna actively involved—farms over 320 hectares of sustainably accredited vineyards across the Nelson region, producing a diverse portfolio of wines that includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and less common varieties like Grüner Veltliner, Zweigelt, and Würzer, all crafted to reflect the bright fruit, intense aromatics and balanced acidity of the local terroir. The estate is known for its strong commitment to sustainable viticulture (Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand accreditation).
